Furnace control systems for batch annealing shops celFCS-basModell einer Haube mit Coils

 

The model celFCS-bas (celano Batch Annealing System) is used for calculation of set point values for a given batch in a batch anealing shop (offline mode). In case of disturbance set points can be corrected automatically by the help of the online observation (online mode).

In a batch annealing shop coils with

  • different dimensions (width, weight, strip thickness)
  • different composition
  • different aim in quality

have to be put together in batches.
Depending on the position inside the batch coils have to be heated differently. In most batch annealing shops the setpoints are determined by the use of tables, which in most cases use input parameters in their most simple form, containing total weight of batches, minimal strip thickness and maximum strip width for each quality.
The combination of qualitys and the combination of speciffic dimensions are in most cases very limited. Since the table would be to large and unclear, the position and dimensions of a coil inside the batch are not considered.
In case of limiting the possible combinations of different coils to strictly, it is possible that single coils in the storage can not be annealed with any other coil aviable.If the tolerance is to high there are problems with highly inhomogeneous batches, e.g. heavy coils that do not reach the aimed quality and have to be annealed a second time, since the table does not survey every coil on its own.

The modell celFCS-bas was since developed

  • to consider each coil with their dimensions, alloy content and setpoints as well as their position inside the batch, with the decrease of quality spread and the avoidance of second annealing in mind.
  • to allow for a broader spectrum of possible coil combinations while still achieving the demanded setpoints.
  • to reduce heating time, if for a given quality cooling with heating hub is used later on (avoidance of the use of glue).
  • to achive the same type of quality, even if the heating gradient is changed, intermediate level are implemented or the temperature during a waiting phase is changed.
  • to determine setpoint graphs for coils of new qualitys.

This functional range was reached by the use of a mathematical modell, which recreates the whole batch annealing process whith the occuring heat flow and the whole annealing in a time pattern.
